Sources in Kollywood report that the Vijay-starrer Kaavalan, initially touted to be a Diwali release, will not turn out to be so. The shooting of Kaavalan is still in progress with director Siddique filming shots involving Asin, Vijay’s lead pair in the film.

Enquiries reveal that there is still some work to be done and the team feels that the film may not be ready for Diwali. Siddique and team are now contemplating on a December release, probably to cash in on the Christmas and New Year rush.

It may be recalled that Kaavalan is Vijay’s 51st film, which is a remake of the Malayalam film Bodyguard.

Vijay is currently shooting for his 51st movie Kaavalan, which would be a remake of Malayalam movie, Bodyguard, directed by Siddiq, who had directed the original version as well.

The latest update is that, the movie is right now being shot in Valsaravakkam Chennai for past 15 days. And the shooting will continue till 17th of this month after that kaavalan crew moving to kerala to shoot some important scene It will take place 10 days . The shooting of Kaavalan will get over by October and the movie is trying to be released for Diwali.

Velayutham will be a totally different type of film for Vijay and will not resemble any of his previous films.Jayam Raja answered a few questions on his upcoming film with Vijay.

Interviewer:

How did the Velayutham Project Begin?

Raja:

I mentioned the Azad script to Vijay 2 years back and Vijay said he will do the project with some modifications to the script in order to suit today's generation. So I took a year to rework the whole Azad script and made changes in order for it to suit Vijay and the film industry. Velayutham cannot be called a remake because I have changed the entire script.
Interviewer:

The last few movies of Vijay have not satisfied his fans or the general audience? Will this film fullfill their expectations?

Raja:

I know that it is a really important time in Vijay's career and I guarantee you that this movie will entertain and satisfy all types of audiences. In his past few films his introduction is always some mass scene....but in Velayutham he will play the role of normal villager in the 1st half of the movie and in second half Vijay is not aware that he is a super hero...but whatever he does will make people think he is a hero. There are no punch dialogues in this movie and even the music used in this film is very different.
Interviewer:

How is the heroine's chemistry with the hero and what kind of role does she have?

Raja:

Genelia will play a bubbly energetic role in this movie... one of the
main plus points is Genelia. The magical chemistry that was shared between Vijay and Genelia will be back in this film. Haniska is the other heroine of the film and Saranya Mohan is in the role of Vijay's sister. Both Hansika and Saranya's characters are also important in this film.

விஜய்-ஜெனிலியா நடிப்பில் வேகமாக வளர்ந்து வருகிறது வேலாயுதம். படத்தின் முதல் கட்டப் படப்பிடிப்பு ஆந்திராவின் கோல்கொண்டாவில் எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதன் அடுத்தக் கட்டப் படப்பிடிப்புக்கான இடத்தினையும் ஆந்திராவிலேயே தேடிவருகிறார்கள்.

'ஆசாத்' விஜய்க்கான படமாக உருவானது எப்படி?


2 வருசத்துக்கு முன்பே ஆசாத் படத்தின் கதையை விஜய்யிடம் சொன்னேன். அதற்கு அவர், “கதை ஓ.கே. ஆனால் இப்போ உள்ள ட்ரெண்டுக்கு ஏற்ற மாதிரி இருந்தா படம் பண்ணலாம்” என்றார்.


ஆசாத் கதை மட்டுமே எடுத்துக் கொண்டு விஜய்க்கு ஏற்றாற் போல் வேலாயுதம் திரைக்கதையை உருவாக்கினேன். இதை ரீமேக் என்றும் சொல்ல முடியாது.ரொம்ப வருஷத்துக்கு முன்பு வெளிவந்த படம் என்பதால் அதை அப்படியே ரிமேக் செய்ய முடியாது. இந்த படத்தின் திரைக்கதையை உருவாக்க 4 மாதங்கள் எடுத்துக் கொண்டேன். இதுவரை வந்த விஜய் படங்களிலிருந்து முற்றிலும் மாறுபட்ட படமா இது இருக்கும்.


விஜய்யின் முந்தைய 5 படங்களும் ரசிகர்கள் எதிர்பார்த்த அளவுக்கு இல்லை என்ற நிலையில், தற்போது இந்தப் படம் அந்த எதிர்பார்ப்பை நிறைவேற்றுமா?


ரசிகர்களின் எதிர்பார்ப்பை நிறைவேற்றி, இந்தப் படத்தை ஹிட்டாக்க வேண்டிய பொறுப்பு எனக்கு தரப்பட்டுள்ளதாக நான் உணர்கிறேன். அந்த வகையில் நிச்சயம் வேலாயுதம் ஹிட் படமா அமையும் என்ற நம்பிக்கை இருக்கு.

சமீபகால விஜய் படங்களில் ஆரம்பக் காட்சிகளிலேயே ஒரு பெரிய மாஸ்சோடு வருவார். ஆனால் இதில் அப்படி இல்லை. இயல்பான கிராமத்து இளைஞனாக முதல் பாதியில் வருவார். இரண்டாம் பாதியில் அவர்தான் ஹீரோ என்று அவருக்கே தெரியாது. அவர் எதார்த்தமாக செய்யும் எல்லா விஷயங்களுமே அவரை ஹீரோவாக்கிவிடும்.

Glimpse through his career graphs and most of his films have been remakes. In fact, his films which weren’t remakes failed at box office and it is much evident with his previous films ‘Vettaikaran’ and ‘Sura’.

The actor has now signed three films, which happens to the remake of a Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam each.

His ‘Kaavalan’ is a remake of Malayalam movie ‘Bodyguard’ and is directed by the same filmmaker Siddique. ‘Velayudham’ as known earlier is a remake of Tollywood film ‘AZAD’ that had Nagarjuna, late actress Soundarya and Shilpa Shetty in lead roles.

‘Velayudham’ has Genelia D’ Souza and Hansika Motwani in female lead roles. This remake version is directed by Raja and is produced by Aascar Ravichandran.

Obviously, his untitled film with Shankar is nothing but a remake of Hindi blockbuster ‘3 Idiots’ and it has already started making high waves of expectations in town.

Let’s hope Vijay strikes gold with hat-tricks as his fans are deliberately looking for such entertaining movies from his part.

After the release of Endhiran, Shankar will start work for his next movie 'Rascal'. This is a remake of the hugely successful Hindi movie 3 Idiots which was directed by Raju Hirani. It was earlier confirmed that Vijay, STR and Madhavan will substitute the roles of Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and Madhavan himself. But since STR and Madhavan pulled out, the scout was on to find suitable replacements.

Now we hear that Shankar has finalized actress Ileana as the heroine of the movie. Ileana earlier starred in the 2006 film Kedi alongside Ravi Krishna. It is already confirmed that Harris Jeyaraj will be scoring the music and Manoj Paramahamsa of VTV fame will be wielding the camera for Rascal. Watch this space for more updates.

‘Neeya Naana’ Gopinath on Sunday apologized for ‘hurting the feelings of Vijay Fans’ on the Aug 29th Neeya naana episode where a participant expressed her views on Vijay acting in films lacking proper storyline, or has the same storyline or are remade films from other languages(Araccha Maave Araikathinga). These statement had made Vijay supporters angry and the fans had expressed their anger through blogs and mails to Vijay TV office in Chennai.



The incident went to the extent, that the angry fans of the star had started making hundreds of abusive calls to Kamaraj, the executive producer of Mercury Networks, which produces ‘Neeya Naana’ , “My inbox has been flooded with hundreds of derogatory messages, threatening me with dire consequences,” Kamaraj says.

Apparently, Kamaraj’s number was shared on the actors active community on the popular networking site, Orkut for this purpose. “The fans can’t take an alternate view about their star,” grieves Kamaraj, who hopes for respite from marauding fans.

Now after the emotional outburst of Vijay’s fans on blogs and the internet forums, Gopinath on behalf of Vijay TV has apologized just before taking off the Sep 5, Neeya Naana Show.

Speaking to the viewers, Gopinath said, “Neeya Naana is a user participated show which brings out many social issues on stage, and participants express his/her opinions freely. Sometimes when the participant share his/her views, opinions and counter-arguments emotionally, there are chances that statements made by the participant may hurt the feelings or sentiments of somebody else. Unfortunately a participant’s comment about actor Vijay in the recently telecasted episode hurt the feelings or the sentiments of the actors fans. We sincerely convey our apologizes for the comments made as our program is a genuine, neutralized and unbiased.

Actor Vijay has been given his contribution in all the big endeavours of Star Vijay. He has honored Vijay TV by participating in various Vijay TV programmes.I assure you all again, Neeya Naana is not does have any intention to hurt any one personally. Likewise, many of the audiences have conveyed their regrets as few ‘Neeya Naana’ programmes have hurt their religious beliefs and Thali sentiments.

Linguswamy's next film was eagerly awaited after the success of Paiyya. Now the latest news is that the talks between him and Vijay and been concluded positively and he will direct a film to be produced by his home banner Tirupathi Brothers.

The project will be finalized in couple of days and the shooting will be from early next year.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film ‘Kaavalan’ is rolling fast on floors of VIT College in Vellore. The film started rolling before 6 months in Chennai and shooting was held in various parts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The original version ‘Bodyguard’ directed by Siddique featured Dhilip and Nayanthara sharing the screen space.

Looks like the film’s storyline is similar to Suriya-Trisha starrer ‘Mounam Pesiyadhe’, in which a series of phone calls from a girl changes the protagonist’s life…

The complete first half would travel on the lines of fun, frolic and romance while the second half turns to be more contrast with emotions and poignant romance with an unexpected twist during climax.

Vidhyasagar has scored music for the film while Ekambaram of ‘Iyarkai’ has handled cinematography. The role played by director Siddique in original version will be enacted by Vadivelu in this remake version.

The scenes involving college sequences are being shot at VIT College in Vellore and the shooting will wrap up after this schedule.

Apart from ‘Kaavalan’, ‘Velayudham’ and ‘3 Idiots’ remake, Vijay has signed another project with director Vikram Kumar of ‘Yaavarum Nalam’ fame. Although, the project hasn’t been officially confirmed, the filmmaker has started working on his script and will soon complete it.....


According to sources, it has been revealed that Vikram Kumar is reworking on the script ‘24’ that was meant for Vikram. It is worth mentioning that both Vikram and Vikram Kumar were supposed to work on this sci-fi thriller titled ‘24’ and the project was dropped due to creative difference of opinions.

Clearing off such rumors, the closer associates of Vikram Kumar have mentioned that they are not reworking on ‘24’ for Vijay and its completely new project.

This untitled film will be produced by A.M. Rathnam of Sri Surya Movies and will commence by end of this year.

Guess what? It’s a big surprise from director Shankar as he assures of completing his next film within a short span of 6-7months. Director Shankar’s films usually get along for a longer duration of not less than couple of years. It’s patently for his unique grandiloquence’s prevalent both in his technical and narrative panoramas...



But this time, he’s sure to strike with a surprise of delivering the same grand ornamentations, but at a different style. According to cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa, he has assured that Shankar will be completing his ‘3 Idiots’ by 6 months as producers have planned to release the film in April-May 2011.
In a recent interview, cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa has mentioned that Shankar’s remake project will be a quickie, but will have the same rich grandness as in his previous movies. It looks like Jeeva and Arya will be playing the other lead characters along with Vijay as Simbhu and Maddy have walked out of the film.
